Sustainability is a concept at the nexus of  economics/environment and ethics; where the needs of the present are met without compromising the needs of the future (paraphrase of the Brundtland Commission Report of 1987).

St Petersburg College has made it part of it's mission to be a creative leader and partner with students, the community and other educational institutions to deliver enriched learning experiences and be a model of environmental stewardship.  Because of this commitment, the only way the college can truly be successful in meeting this goal is to partner with the community and pledge to live more sustainable and socially responsible lives.
