  Biography:

Welcome to my instructor course page! I teach humanities courses at St. Petersburg College on the Tarpon Springs campus. I have a Ph.D in Humanities from Florida State University where I wrote my doctoral dissertation on Shakespeare and Greek tragedy. I also have a M.A. in English and a B.A. in English. I have been teaching humanities for 12 years (three years at FSU and nine years at Lee University in Tennessee). My academic interests include Homer and Greek tragedy, Shakespeare, Victorian literature, European intellectual history, ancient philosophy and history, and theology (I enjoy reading C.S. Lewis). I also love art, and music (especially classical and jazz). As you can see, I went into humanities because I have an interest in so many fields, especially literature and philosophy.

On a more personal note, I am happily married to my beautiful wife Cindi and we are expecting our first baby boy (Noah) in December 2009. When I'm not busy teaching or reading, I enjoy fishing, watching good movies and college football (go Noles!), walking our dogs, and going to the beach (and eating good seafood when I can!)
