  Biography:

The Rev. A. Edward Sellers came to St. Dunstan’s in February 1998 having been the Rector of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Milledgeville, Georgia for fifteen years. Fr. Sellers is a native of Rhode Island; holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, with a major in English Literature from New England College in Henniker, New Hampshire, graduating Magna cum laude in 1963. He completed his seminary education at Berkeley Divinity School at Yale, New Haven, Connecticut, graduating cum laude in 1967. He was ordained a Deacon in 1967 and a Priest in 1968 in the Diocese of Rhode Island. Fr. Sellers served as a Curate at St. John’s, Barrington, R. I., and as Rector of St. Alban’s—St. James’ in North Providence, R. I. He came to Georgia in 1973 as Rector of Christ Church, Dublin, Georgia. In 1978, he accepted a position as chaplain for the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Dublin. In addition to his responsibilities as a parish priest, Fr. Sellers has served as an instructor at several institutions of higher education in Georgia. Fr. Sellers recently retired as a Lt. Colonel in the United States Army Reserve and credits the Army with providing him with extensive training in Clinical Pastoral Care, Crisis Ministry, suicide, and drug and alcohol treatment. He is presently an instructor at St. Petersburg College at the Seminole Campus. His family includes two older children, Jennifer Collins who lives outside Atlanta with her husband, Matt, and is raising two small children, and Danny who is in Iraq with the U.S. Air Force.  Daughter Chrissy, is married and working in Orlando and son Tony who graduated from Seminole High School in 2007 lives in Largo, and is attending SPC.
