I earned my Ph.D. in Zoology from the University of Texas at Austin. My doctoral emphasis was in Ecology, Behavior and Evolutionary Biology. Prior to UT, I attended graduate school at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the University of Florida and my Associate of Arts from St. Petersburg College (back when it was still "Junior College"). I teach because I love biology, I love to learn and I love to experience the learning process with others. Outside the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family rollerblading, bike riding, kayaking, and enjoying nature.
