I am Academic Chair of the Science department at Seminole Campus and look forward to my role helping students with their success in the online environment.

My background in biology focused primarily on entomology and biological field technique. I have always loved the study of insects and like to find ways to integrate them into my class. I currently keep several arachnids in a display across from my office so students can have a chance to observe spiders and appreciate their functions within the environment. Current projects that I am involved in include encouraging students to undertake tropical studies, helping with habitat inprovement in area natural habitats, and continued course development to center on an outdoor oriented approach. I have several courses working with state and local parks to improve the park conditions while teaching students the value of community service. I prefer an active learning style with field research, active learning, and the use of the natural environments as a classroom.

It is also one of the most rewarding educational experiences you can undertake at college in terms of enriching your educational experience.
