  Biography:

A transplanted Northerner in 1963, I completed high school at Boca Ciega High School in St. Petersburg. After two years at St. Petersburg Junior College specializing in music, a B.A. in mathematics was earned from the University of South Florida. Subsequently an M.Ed. was earned in Computer Science from USF, and a Ph.D. program was begun in Measurement and Research (Statistics) at USF, but not yet completed.

As a full time high school teacher with the Pinellas County School System since 1969, I have taught mathematics, and, since the late 1970's, computer programming. I most recently taught computer languages at the magnet school, the Center for Advanced Technologies at Lakewood High School. I recently retired from the school system after 38 years in Pinellas County. Other jobs included working in a Music Store, Cobol Programming for a bank, Professional Photographer, working as an electrician during some summers, and directing church choirs. Additionally I have taught as an adjunct instructor at Clearwater Christian College (History of Mathematics, Intermediate Algebra, CLAST review), St. Petersburg College (Computer Programming and Applications, Elementary and Intermediate Algebra), and the University of South Florida (Computer Programming and Applications).

In addition to my wife (Joyce) of 39+ years, I have 2 married sons, and a married daughter. My wife is an elementary school teacher for the Pinellas County Schools, my oldest son is self employed, my youngest son is a middle school band director, and my daughter works in the insurance industry. All three children now have children of their own. It's great being a grandfather of 7 (soon to be 8).

I enjoy a round of golf (12 handicap) whenever possible, and a major interest is woodworking. One of my woodworking projects took "first place" at the Florida State Fair several years ago. Finally, my "punny" sense of humor is the "BEST"! ! ! ! ALL MY STUDENTS think so! ! ! !
