  Biography:

Tell me and I'll forget;
show me and I may remember;
involve me and I'll understand.
- Chinese Proverb

My teaching philosophy: I believe that the role of a teacher has evolved and is more than that of imparting knowledge to their students. The role of a teacher especially in this knowledge-based economy is multi-facet and includes the role of an educator, mentor, facilitator, and critic. I like to be an advocate of continuous learning for my students. As another Chinese proverb goes, "Give a man a fish, and he has a fish for the day Teach a man how to fish, and he can fish for a lifetime."

I try to promote interactivity amongst my students (e.g. project-based collaborations, quizzes, group discussions, etc.) to capture the essence of the lesson and engage the student into the collaborative classroom activity to hopefully retain the concepts. I constantly review and reflect on my teaching style and course content to better meet the expectations of my students. Consequently, my teaching method evolves as I incorporate new technologies and other teaching practices. My future plan is to keep myself up-to-date with new and better teaching skills and instructional development through feedback, evaluation and teacher training courses.
