  Biography:

I am currently a part-time Instructor in Human Services at St. Petersburg College. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology/Social Welfare (dual major), a Master's degree in Counseling, and additional Master's level coursework in Educational Counseling. I am presently pursuing my PhD at University of South Florida in Higher Education Curriculum & Instruction (Admin emphasis) with a secondary emphasis in Counselor Education and Supervision.  I am honored to also have taught at University of South Florida at the undergraduate level.

I have served in the Human Services field for 16 years and have worked with a variety of populations. I am very student focused in my approach to teaching and interactive in my style. I encourage students to be "intrinsically motivated" vs. "extrinsically motivated" and become active learners. "Teachers open the door, but you must enter by yourself" ~Chinese Proverb

For leisure I enjoy spending time with my family, photography, music-performing as well as listening to, and of course continuing my own education-both formally and informally. I encourage all to become lifelong learners...embracing the educational value of each opportunity.
