I grew up in a small town in Ohio, lived all around Maryland except for the Eastern shore, then did live on the beach in Ft. Myers Beach before moving to St. Petersburg oh so many years ago. I received my BA from Bowling Green State University in Ohio, took a number of courses at USF, and earned my MA from California State University, Dominquez Hills. My first job at SPC was in the Writing Lab, so I got used to working individually with students.

Learning is a life-long fulfilling quest. The more we’re learning, the more alive we are. Reading (literature, but not only that) and writing are two of my favorite ways to discover out what’s out there and what’s inside here, in myself. I like teaching and (sometimes) taking online courses because I think they encourage that process of discovery through flexibility and independence.
