  Biography:

Kimberly Queen Moldt, MA, NCC, LMHC, LMFT, CAP

My name is Kimberly Queen Moldt.  I am dually licensed as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 15 years of experience.  I am a Certified Addiction Professional in Florida and have a background in government and health care administration, with a Master of Arts in Counseling and a Post Master’s Graduate Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy.

I am currently an Adjunct Faculty at St. Petersburg College, teaching classes in the Human Services department since January 2006.  In addition, I have my own small private practice and consulting business in Largo.  I am Florida licensing board approved as a Qualified Supervisor for Licensed Mental Health Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists and Clinical Social Workers.

In Florida, I have worked in a hospital psychiatric crisis unit which served as a Baker Act receiving facility; and in West Virginia, I worked in a non-profit community mental health agency and for government in public health.

Most recently, I served as Administrator of Clinical Services at Operation PAR, Inc.  I worked at the Adult Residential Campus in Largo, a therapeutic community for people recovering from alcohol/drug addiction.  I supervised Program Directors and their staff which includes nurse administrator and nurses, counselors and interns, behavioral health technicians, case managers, and administrative support staff.

In West Virginia, I spent eight years at Kanawha Pastoral Counseling Center where I started as an intern and grew my career. I had my own private practice there, served as the business manager, primary fundraiser and event planner as I transitioned from part-time to full-time Staff Therapist, and supervised other counselors in the absence of the Executive Director.

As a consultant, I have provided training to physicians, nurses and social workers on using Motivational Interviewing for HIV Prevention Counseling and Testing. My clients include Pennsylvania Mid-Atlantic AIDS Education and Training Center, and the States of West Virginia and Tennessee Bureaus of Public Health. Prior to my work as a consultant, I worked for the West Virginia Bureau for Public Health and was trained as a trainer at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta.  I supervised the quality of HIV counseling in public health departments, contractors in community based organizations statewide and a professional staff of public health educators.

On a personal note, I'm married and we were blessed with twin girls in May 2008.  I am humbled by the mystery of life and the experiences given to me on my signature path.  I am grateful for the opportunties for continued learning and growth in our profession, and look forward to sharing my passion for the field with new professionals.
