  Biography:

Author/researcher of a Longetudinal Study over developmental writers and teaching styles; some academic articles in books and journals; presenter at both National and International Conferences; twice nominee of Piper Awared; Who's Who In Colleges and Universities.
Associate Professor of English at St.Petersburg College
My current scholarship (and teaching at SPC reflects this) is concentrated on Discursive democracy, that is, the interplay of public versus private spheres of understanding -- especially with the study of online discourse -- and the wonder-ful part that critical writing plays in the crossing of curriculum and disciplines that are very much a part of this teaching approach.   Many of our writing projects are initiated from critical discussion.
There are words that some of us work, think and act on.  I often think on these as written by my good friend, fellow Tejano and teaching mentor of many years past -- John Gunter: "He endures best who restores newness and joy to all that he touches.  Love, laughter, and adventures require a newness of spirit that lives in the heart of the wise."
