QRS COMPLEXES

QRS complexes have a variety of configurations. Although not every complex has a Q, R and S-wave, the complex is still referred to as the QRS complex. The Q-wave is the first negative deflection of the complex. The R-wave is the first positive deflection of the complex. The S-wave is the negative deflection following the R-wave. The following are some examples of various QRS configurations. A small amplitude deflection is designated by a lower case letter whereas a large deflection is noted as an upper case letter.
