Why is checking SPC email so important to using ANGEL? How do I check my SPC email? What is my SPC email address?
Upon being officially hired, including credentialing and other formalities with Human Resources, your Program Director will request an SPC email account for you and forward information to you about how to login. Please check your SPC email address regularly, as this is the primary mode of communication about ANGEL and other important college-wide information. If you need assistance with your SPC email, please contact the Technical Support Desk at (727) 791-2795.

How do I access ANGEL? How do I login to ANGEL?
You can access ANGEL by going to ANGEL.spcollege.edu. Please use your PeopleSoft/Network Account to log in. Click the link below and view the tutorial to learn how to login to ANGEL: http://it.spcollege.edu/edtech/trainingCentral/angel/ANGEL7tutorials/tutorials.cfm?sectionTopic_id=199

I cannot log on ANGEL? What should I do?
First, do not panic! Here are some tips that might help you:
  • Make sure your Caps Lock is not engaged. Your username and password should be typed in lowercase.
  • Try closing your browser and restarting it.
  • If closing your browser does not work, try restarting your computer.
  • If restarting your computer does not work, call the Technical Support Desk at (727) 791-2795.

What is my ANGEL username and password? I've forgotten my SPC Network/ANGEL password.
Your username is usually your lastname-dot-firstname (for example, smith.john). If you do not know your username and/or password, you can call the Technical Support Desk from a college telephone. The staff at the Technical Support Desk cannot tell you what your old password was, but they can reset your password and tell you what the new one is. For security reasons, if you are not on-campus, have your Program Director call the Technical Support Desk on your behalf at (727) 791-2795.

I've tried logging on to ANGEL (or ANGELtraining, or ANGELdev) and I get the following error, "Authorization Error - The logon information you entered is valid, but"
ANGEL accounts should be generated automatically. However, for some reason, this did not happen for you. Contact the Technical Support Desk at (727) 791-2795.

Back to the FAQs

I'm supposed to complete the online course Excellence in Adjunct Instruction, but when I log on to ANGEL, I don't see the course.
Make sure that you are logging on to ANGELtraining (not ANGEL) at ANGELtraining.spcollege.edu
If you log on to ANGELtraining and still don't see "Excellence in Adjunct Instruction," contact the Technical Support Desk to be enrolled at (727) 791-2795.

I'm trying to register for a workshop, but when I log on to ANGEL, I don't see the SPC Professional Development area.
Make sure that you are logging on to ANGELtraining (not ANGEL) at ANGELtraining.spcollege.edu
If you log on to ANGELtraining and still don't see "SPC Professional Development," contact the Technical Support Desk to be enrolled at (727) 791-2795.

Back to the FAQs

I've successfully logged on to ANGEL, but I don't see my courses.
There are three reasons why you might not be seeing your courses:

1) You have logged on to ANGELtraining, rather than ANGEL. To access your courses for this semester, you need to log on to ANGEL at: ANGEL.spcollege.edu

2) You have not made the setting change to view your disabled courses. Click the link below and view the following tutorial to learn how to make your disabled courses viewable to you: http://it.spcollege.edu/edtech/trainingCentral/angel/ANGEL7tutorials/tutorials.cfm?sectionTopic_id=284

3) Assigning you to the course has not been updated in PeopleSoft. Check with your Program Director to find out if you have been indicated in the PeopleSoft system as the instructor for your courses. If this was updated in the past 12 hours, you might need to wait a while before this change will reflect itself in the ANGEL system. If this was updated longer than 12 hours ago, contact the Technical Support Desk at (727) 791-2795.

I've logged on to ANGEL and I see some of my courses for this semester, but one (or more) is missing.
Check with your Program Director to make sure you have been indicated in the PeopleSoft system as the instructor for all your courses. If this was updated in the past 12 hours, you might need to wait a while before this change will reflect itself in the ANGEL system. If this was updated longer than 12 hours ago, contact the Technical Support Desk at (727) 791-2795.

I've logged on to ANGEL and I see my courses, but one (or more) has the wrong instructor name or a TBA indicated in the title.
Contact your campus Instructional Technologist: http://it.spcollege.edu/edtech/contactInfo/index.cfm?itonly=true
Let her/him know the course number/title/class number that needs to be corrected.

Back to the FAQs

I've logged on to ANGEL and I see a course(s) that I'm not teaching this semester.
There are two reasons that might explain this:

1) This course has been assigned to another instructor to teach. Check with your Program Director to make sure you have been removed as the instructor of this course in the PeopleSoft system. Then, click on the course title and remove yourself from the Class Roster.

2) This course has been cancelled. To remove this course from your view, click "edit" located within the Courses title bar. Then, click inside the box to the left of the course title to uncheck it. See tutorial: http://it.spcollege.edu/edtech/trainingCentral/angel/ANGEL7tutorials/tutorials.cfm?sectionTopic_id=284

There's been a change of instructor and I'm now teaching someone else's course. What should I do?
When you log on to ANGEL, if you do not see this course, then check with your Program Director to make sure you have been added as the instructor of this course in the PeopleSoft system. If this was updated in the past 12 hours, you might need to wait a while before this change will reflect itself in the ANGEL system. If this was updated longer than 12 hours ago, contact the Technical Support Desk at (727) 791-2795. In either event, contact your campus Instructional Technologist: http://it.spcollege.edu/edtech/contactInfo/index.cfm?itonly=true
Let her/him know the course number/title/class number that needs to be corrected.

I used to be able to see my courses from last semester, and now I can't. What's happened?
Courses from the previous semester are archived and then deleted from the ANGEL system about two weeks into the following semester. For example, courses from Fall '07 (0385) will be deleted about two weeks after the Spring '08 (0390) semester begins. To review your archived courses, log on at ANGELarchive.spcollege.edu. Be sure to get with your campus Instructional Technologist so that you can create a working copy back-up of courses on ANGELdev: http://it.spcollege.edu/edtech/contactInfo/index.cfm?itonly=true

Back to the FAQs

I have a student who is having trouble logging on to ANGEL.
Have her/him contact the Technical Support Desk at (727) 341-4357. Please note that the support number for students is different from the support number for employees/faculty.

How can I learn more about ANGEL?
The best starting place is to register for "Pathways to eLearning” (PTE). PTE is delivered using ANGEL, is self-paced, and will be monitored by one of the Campus Instructional Technologists. The overriding goal is to help provide skills, knowledge, and resources necessary to assist you in developing and/or managing a successful and effective eLearning Community in ANGEL while providing a glimpse of the student perspective.

Here are the directions to register for Pathways to eLearning (PTE):

1) Go to: ANGELtraining.spcollege.edu
2) Log on using your SPC network Username and Password.
3) Under the heading Community Groups, click SPC - Professional Development.
4) Read the Welcome message.
5) Complete the brief Introductory Survey, if you have not already done so. (It's only 2 items!)
6) After completing the survey, you should see and be able to click the folder for Web and Instructional Technology Services.
7) Select the Pathways to eLearning folder.
8) Click on and complete the registration form. You will receive a confirmation email to let you know you have successfully registered.

Where can I go for directions on how to use ANGEL?
There are a number of tutorials that provide written directions you can read and/or print for your reference. They also contain playable video demonstrations of a variety of ANGEL features. You can access the menu of ANGEL tutorials at: http://it.spcollege.edu/edtech/trainingCentral/angel/ANGEL7tutorials/index.cfm
