How to Add the SSI to your Course
The Student Survey of Instruction (SSI) is an important survey that allows students to express their beliefs about your class. There is a two step process for getting the SSI into your courses. First, you need to lock some end of the term assessment. Second, you need to add the SSI course template.

1. Click underneath the content you wish to lock. NOTE - You can lock a folder, quiz, or drop box.

Click Edit
2. In the Password Text box found under the Access Settings, type in a password for this piece of content. Make sure to start the password with an exclamation point (!) so the content is hidden from the student's view. Make sure to write down the password. NOTE - You may wish to use !ssi for your password so it is easy to remember. If you already open content based on an orientation or start here quiz, you will need to type in a new password on this content so it stays hidden from the student's view.

3. Click Save.

4. To add the SSI, click Add Content link.

5. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Add From Template.

6. Click Search.

7. In the Category drop down list, choose Student Survey of Instruction.

8. Click Search.

Click Search
9. Click the Student of Survey of Instruction link.

Click SSI Link
10.On the next screen, type in the password you choose for the piece of content and click Continue. NOTE - If you used !ssi for the password, simply click the Continue button.

Click Continue
11. The template will load into your course. Click OK.

Click OK
12. A survey will be loaded into your course content. NOTE - When the student finishes the SSI, the content that you placed a lock on will open.
