Graduates of Florida School of Banking receive SPC credit toward BAS in banking

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (June 2, 2008) -- The College of Technology & Management at St. Petersburg College and the Florida Banker’s Association have agreed that FSB graduates may receive credit toward SPC’s accredited baccalaureate degree in banking.

The arrangement marks another step in the collaboration between the college and the association, which is aimed at improving the commitment to the education of Florida’s bankers. The collaboration is patterned after arrangements used by the University of South Carolina and the State University of New York.

Under the arrangement, a Florida School of Banking graduate enrolling in the St. Petersburg College degree program will receive six credits toward the degree. The credits will be awarded only upon successful completion and graduation from the FSB. The arrangement is retroactive to 2007 FSB graduates.

Current FSB students who enroll in the BAS in Banking program before completing the FSB program are also eligible to receive the six credits, but only upon their successful completion and graduation from the FSB program.
