Two named to head SPC's green efforts

 

          St. Petersburg College has named two people to head up its new Office for Sustainability and provide leadership for its green/sustainability efforts, it was announced today.
            Jason Green, a licensed architect, is the college’s new Sustainability Coordinator. He implements various sustainable practices, including development of sustainable degree programs. He also works with SPC’s Collaborative Labs to provide continuing education workshops and seminars; develop a Web site; research sustainable building materials; coordinate campus recycling; and coordinate the newly-formed Sustainability Committee.

            Green is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accredited professional. He has master’s degrees in architecture, business and education, and is an Adjunct Instructor of Architecture at the Clearwater Campus.

            Diana Wright is the college’s new Energy Coordinator, responsible for completing energy audits and greenhouse gas inventories. She is developing a college-wide energy plan to save utility costs and decrease carbon emissions.
